GCH/CanCH Sketchbook Neon Lights

"Vegas" started his show career very well, with a 3-point major 1-6-06 under judge Donna Buxton at the Northstar Working Group Association show in St Paul, MN. In November, during the cluster at Ft Wayne, IN, he was Best of Breed from the classes, over nationally ranked CH's (pictured). He finished his CH in Fayetteville, AR on 12-10-06, and started his "specials" career with a BB and Group 4 the next day!!

He is a handsome, compact, harsh-coated, sturdy dog with a sweet, fun-loving temperament and beautiful expression, very reminiscent of his father. Also like his father, he loves to be the center of attention, which makes him easy and fun to show!

NEWS FLASH!!! At the Lake Minnetonka KC show (Jordan, MN) June 9, 2007, Vegas wins BEST IN SHOW following his first Group 1 win!! Very exciting! This is the same show where his father, Seasar, won his first BIS, making it even more special!

MORE NEWS!! Vegas completed his Canadian CH in 3 consecutive shows at the Alberta Kennel Club shows and the Standard Schnauzer Club of Canada specialties held with them. He was BW at the Standard Schnauzer Club of Canada Western Regional Specialty August 3 under Swedish judge Annika Ultveit-Moe, and under Australian judge Marie Merchant on August 4th he was BB over all the specials and Group 3 in a tough Working Group! He also assisted Liz Holle to 3 wins and 1-2nd place in Junior Showmanship at these shows.

Vegas is the 2009 SSCA Dog of the Year! With limited specialing, but several nice wins at big shows and specialties, Vegas defeated enough SS's to win the SSCA Dog of the Year - Breed points system award! We are pleased and proud of this accomplishement!

Grand CH Vegas! AKC introduced a new title of Grand Champion in mid-May 2010, and despite cutting back on the show schedule this year, Vegas became the first Sketchbook Grand Champion at the St Croix Valley KC shows (Lake Elmo, MN) following the Heartland SSC specialty! Congrats!!

Vegas is now the sire of CH's too! His first CH kid is "Zack", CH Sketchbook Stack The Deck, who turned a lot of heads and finished from the puppy class, handled by a junior showman, and went BB over CH's 3 times along the way! Close behind was his brother, "Dealer", CH Sketchbook Dealers Choice, who was Best Junior in Sweepstakes during the National Specialty weekend, and finished at 13 months old. There are more nice pups from his 2 litters who will also be shown, and hopefully there will be more Vegas kids to come, who will also have his lovable, sweet temperament and beautiful conformation!

Vegas had a very successful trip to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in early August 2007, earning his Canadian CH undefeated in the classes in 3 straight shows, and going Best of Breed over all the specials to finish. He capped the day off by also taking a Group 3rd during Canada's largest outdoor dog shows!!
