Some'r is a beautiful girl, and had a long reign as "Queen of the Known Universe", having inherited this position from her mother, Fanny, who showed her the ropes before handing over the crown.

18" tall, square build, dark harsh coat, good bone and depth of body, beautiful mover, dark eye, perfect bite, attractive expression. Very businesslike, and certain of the correct order for the world around her - strict with the dogs around her, sweet to people. Her favorite way to sleep is upside down, legs in all directions, and most of her children have inherited this trait!

Some'r is a certified "PALS" dog (Pet Assisted Loving Support - pet therapy program through the Veterinary College at the University of Missouri-Columbia), making numerous visits to the Children's Hospital at the University of Missouri. Tricks that involve the patient or a family member giving her a treat are her favorite way to entertain the patients! She was also part of a healthy walking research project with the U of MO Nursing School and an assisted living facility in Columbia. She continues to help with ground-breaking research into the Human-Animal Bond sponsored jointly by the School of Nursing, Medical School, and College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia, under the direction of Dr Rebecca Johnson.

NEWS FLASH!! Somer joins the ranks of other Sketchbook girls as a SSCA Hall Of Fame Producer on November 17, 2006, when "Benny" became CH Sketchbook Stardust, and Somer's 10th CH kid!

Some'r left us on July 6, 2009. She told me it was time - she was no longer enjoying life, so I let her go. I miss her strong personality that dominated the household for over 15 years. She lives on in her kids, grandkids, and beyond, as well as in my heart.
